The Airtel Internet settings is a MUST requirement for all subscribers before they can be able to browse the internet, through the Airtel Network using their data plans and internet subscriptions.

All interested subscribers who are using the Airtel Simcard MUST have the airtel internet settings to have access to the internet, either on your mobile phones, tablets or other data enabled devices like Modem. Take note that before you can connect to the world wide web, you will have to ensure your APN settings are configured correctly on the Airtel 4G network.

For those who are yet to understand what APN really means, APN means Access Point Name.

The APN is a requirement on the network for all data users. The Airtel APN is your ONLY gateway to accessing the web on the Airtel Network.

Here’s WHY You Cannot Browse with Airtel

The biggest obstacle and issue why most people can’t browse with their phone/device, is because they have no APN settings or incorrect APN settings. You would be unable to access the web without the APN settings.

Although the Simcards are automatically configured, once you insert the Airtel SIM. However, if you need to manually configure your device, you can use the settings shared below.

Please take note that this varies from device to device.

Internet Settings (APN)

I will say this here today, if you choose to manually update your APN for browsing, either on PC, Laptop or mobile phones, you should try using the SMS method below, before attempting to manually set up internet setting on your phone.

Here Are the SMS to receive internet settings for Airtel Nigeria.

For Malawi  – send an SMS with the word ALL to 575

For Nigerians – For Airtel users in Nigeria, who would love to receive the internet settings through SMS, you can send an SMS with the text INTERNET with your phone make and model to 232.

For example, for Nokia 9300i: Send internet nokia 9300i to 232.

Once you send the above text message, in a short while, you will receive a message containing internet settings, which will be sent to your phone. The next step is to select “Save” from the options to save all the settings.

Once you have successfully done so, your phone is automatically configured to access the internet.

If the phone is not supported, you can manually set it up by using the guidelines below.

This service is ideal for high-end devices such as Communicators, PDAs and Data cards.
With Internet Access, you will get full access to the internet and internet-based services such as IM, attachment downloads and so on.

How to Set up INTERNET Access

Before you’ll be able to set up your device to connect to the internet through Airtel, be aware that there are actually two ways of setting up internet on your phone or Modem.

  1. Over The Air configuration (Automatic)
  2. Manual configuration

Important Information: Please take note that all phone models accept the OTA means of configuration. (However, the best method to know if your phone do accepts OTA, please check your user guide.) If this method does not work for you, please use the manual option and you’ll be good to go.

Using OTA (Automatic) Configuration

  1. Send an SMS with the text INTERNET with your phone make and model to 232. For example, for Nokia 9300i: Send internet nokia 9300i to 232 (This works for Nigerians)
  2. After successfully sending the message, and your settings arrive, you should proceed by choosing the option to save it. If prompted for a PIN, use 0 (zero). If prompted for a longer PIN use 0000.

Using Manual Configuration

  1. Please use the parameters which is shown in the table below to manually configure your handset, Mobile phones like Android, Windows Smartphone, Laptops, PC, modem, etc.
