The National Identity management commission (NIMC) is warning Nigerians to stay away from fraudsters posing to be a representative of the body.

Kindly note that NIMC will never ask you to upload your BVN or NIN on any Portal.

Whenever you’re having an issue, you should always use the NIMC official website www.nimc.gov.ng for valid information.

You should also beware and steer clear of messages from dubious persons using dubious email addresses designed to resemble NIMC emails, requesting you to click on links to FAKE websites and upload your BVNs or NINs. This is 100 percent SCAM and not from the NIN.

Take note of the following:

  • The National Identification Number (NIN) is FREE.
  • The National e-ID Card is FREE.

Note that it is always SAFER to do Online Pre-enrolment yourself using your Personal Computers, Internet-enabled smartphones, and other devices, before going to the nearest NIMC enrolment center near you.

Steer clear of Fraudulent persons who are posing as National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) agents or staff. Once again, don’t pay money to anyone offering to help you speed up the NIN enrolment process or that promise to get you the National e-ID card for you.
